Electrochemical Nano‐Roughening of Gold Microstructured Electrodes for Enhanced Sensing in Biofluids

چکیده
A key challenge for sensor miniaturization is to create electrodes with smaller footprints, while maintaining or increasing sensitivity. In this work, the electroactive surface of gold was enhanced 30-fold by wrinkling followed chronoamperometric (CA) pulsing. Electron microscopy showed increased roughness in response an number CA pulses. The nanoroughened also excellent fouling resistance when submerged solutions containing bovine serum albumin. were used electrochemical detection Cu2+ tap water and glucose human blood plasma. latter case, allowed highly sensitive enzyme-free sensing glucose, responses comparable those two commercial enzyme-based sensors. We anticipate that methodology fabricate nanostructured can accelerate development simple, cost-effective, high sensitivity platforms.
